It?s one of the biggest things that I love about cats ? that they are not as overtly affectionate as you would expect a dog to be. They have this attitude about them that makes me feel a real kinship with them. You have to earn their love and their trust and when you do ? you feel all the more loved from them.

Where dogs may cover your face with kisses, bark at you affectionately when you walk in the door and wag their tail when you talk ? cats can be a lot more subtle.

From a dead mouse to big dilated eyes ? there are some easy signs that your cat is giving you some love, you just have to know what to look for!

The Purr
We all know this one from our loved cats. When they purr, they're generally showing you love.

The Belly Rub
If you have a cat you will likely know how much they love to have their belly rubbed. Turns out, that's also a way they show you some love. Not that they rub your belly, but allowing you to rub theirs is a sign of love and trust.

The Follow
if your cat is following you from room to room and trying to get your attention -- that's a way they show you they love you (or that they want food).

If your kitty still has their claws, this sign of affection can come with a bit of pain. It's a comfort thing likely from the days they were a little nursling and a way they show you that they love you.

Cats love to rub their head on your or give you what looks like a head butt. It may seem mean at first, but really your cat is basically giving you a hug of love. It's a way of communicating that they want you to show them some love back too.
